REQUIRED RENTAL DOCUMENTS

THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ARE

When collecting the vehicle, both the main driver and additional drivers must present a valid Driving Licence with a photocard and a valid Passport.

A driving licence must be presented in legible Roman letters.

A credit card in the name of the main driver is required, with sufficient funds for both the security deposit and for any service or extras requested locally. The card (either credit or debit depending on the destination/supplier) must display the 16 numbers and show the expiry date. The PIN code will be required.

The Flexible Autos voucher is required when picking up your rental car.

If you do not present any of the required documents, the documentation is not valid or you do not have enough funds on your credit card, the car rental agent may refuse to deliver the vehicle, without refunding any amount if the supplier establishes it in its conditions.

The customer must be able to provide personal documents where their address of residency is clear identifiable, if the driving licence does not provide enough information.

Non UE citizens have to show a valid passport, a national AND International driving licence

Exception: UK driving licences do not need an International Driving Permit, unless the driver has either a paper driving licence or a licence issued in Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man.

IMPORTANT: It is the drivers responsibility to ensure that they have the appropriate licence. Please check with the embassy or consulate in advance.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS

Driving Licences must be held for a minimum of 1 years.

TAXES

Unless otherwise indicated all costs indicated in these terms and conditions are subject to local taxes and fees.


EXCESS AMOUNTS

A deposit amount of only 0.01 EUR will be held in the customer credit/debit card just in order to store the credit/debit card details.
The CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) amounts are dependant on the car group:

The TP (Theft Protection) amounts are dependant on the car group:

CAMPANIA AND PUGLIA: In the event of total or partial theft occurred in Campania and Puglia regions, regardless of the location where the rental has started, the theft excess is doubled.
When purchasing Super Theft Protection, Smart Cover or Don''''t Worry services, and the theft happened in the above mentioned areas, Renter is liable to Lessor for a maximum amount equal to the amount indicated as "theft excess" in the Special Rental Conditions on the frontispiece of the rental agreement.


FUEL POLICY

THE FUEL POLICY IS

Cars will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be returned full. Otherwise the client will be charged for missing fuel, plus a refuelling charge.
It’s important the customer refuels within 10 kilometers from the drop-off point and keep the fuel station ticket.
Please note if returning the hire car on a Sunday, many fuel stations in Italy are closed, and will only operate automated card machines.

There is no maximum age limit (Subject to the driving licence expiration and licence requirements)


ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

There is an additional driver charge of 7 EUR plus Vat per day, per additional driver.

Pool driving is a new service that includes 3 extra drivers. You can choose it directly to the local branch:

DRIVING RESTRICTIONS

GENERAL RESTRICTIONS ARE

Driving the vehicle without prior consent outside of the hire country will invalidate the agreed insurance coverage.

CROSS BORDER/INTERNATIONAL ONE-WAYS

Permission to cross the border must be authorised at the time of booking

International one-way travel is NOT available. The vehicle insurance will be deemed void if vehicles are not returned to the agreed pick-up location.

The vehicles may be taken into the following countries: Europe, Norway, Switzerland

The driver can take the vehicle cross border providing he has informed the rental desk prior to departure. There is no extra fee for cross border travel
Please Note: Cross border travel must be requested prior to collection of the vehicle.

NATIONAL ONE-WAY TRAVEL

For National one-way travel, we will confirm the availability and the price of this service once the reservation has been made and we have received a confirmation from the supplier.

There will be a penalty fee of 350 EUR for a disallowed National one-way.


GRACE PERIOD

THE GRACE PERIOD IS

The supplier establishes a grace period of 59 minutes from the indicated time in the reservation.

Additional collection fees, administrative and out of hours charges may also be applicable if the vehicle is returned late without prior notice.

IMPORTANT:
The client must scrupulously comply with the delivery and return times indicated in their reservation and on their voucher.
Although the number of rental days as well as their price are calculated based on 24-hour periods, some providers charge penalties or even additional days from the exact return time that appears in the reservation, without taking into account the period of 24 hours.
Flexible Autos will not make any refund / compensation for this reason.


MILEAGE

MILEAGE ALLOWANCE

Rentals 1 - 29 days: unlimited
Rentals of 30 days or more: 3000 km per month.
Extra charge per km/mile is 0.20 EUR.

Delivery and Collection is available on request:
- Within 5 km from the nearest location at the extra fee of 25 EUR per service.
- From 5 km to 10 km, the extra fee is 35 EUR per service.
- Over 10 km the additional charge is 3.5 EUR per km.


OUT OF HOURS SERVICE

THE OUT OF HOURS SERVICE AVAILABILITY IS

The Out of Hour service is by request basis only. This service may not be available at all locations. There will be an extra charge of 30.00 EUR,plus Vat for picking up and dropping off the vehicle. In some cases airport/location fees may also be applied. All Out of Hours fees are to be pay locally.


CANCELLATIONS AND NO SHOWS

CANCELLATION AND NO SHOW POLICIES AND FEES

Cancellation policy and fees: Cancellations are generally free of charge up to 48hrs prior to collection. If your reservation is cancelled within 48 hours of your collection time, charges may apply. Please contact the Flexible Autos call centre to confirm any possible charges.
No show policy and fees: The booking will be considered a ''''No Show'''' for a number of reasons, but not limited to: failure to collect your rental car at the agreed booked time, if the main driver and any named drivers are unable to present the requested documentation, failure to present a valid driver’s licence, failure to provide a credit card with enough credit for the deposit, or are found to be incapable of driving the vehicle through, alcohol or drugs. A 100% cancellation fee will apply unless otherwise stated. No refunds are payable on cars returned early.


SUPPLIER/ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE INFORMATION

In case of an accident, the customer must remain with the vehicle, and complete a police report at the time of the incident.

In case of theft of the vehicle or vehicle equipment customers must contact the rental office and make a report to the police.

24 hour service. Customer must contact the rental location for assistance.

There is an Assistance Plus Option of 3.50 EUR per day.

Any Locauto Rent station does not provide direct assistance to the customer. This service is handled by Aci Global Spa (a primarily italian road assistance company) on behalf of Locauto.

If the customer does not purchase the additional coverage Roadside plus, the tow truck service costs € 120,00 plus we''ll apply the Damage, theft, tow truck penalty equal to € 70.00.

IMPORTANT:
In the event of an accident with other parties involved, the Customer must notify the rental location by email within 24 hours of the event, providing details of the accident, the license plate number of the other party(s) involved, and their insurance company(s). Within 48 hours of the event, the Customer must send a communication to the rental location with all the required documents (C.A.I. form filled out in detail or, failing that, a detailed report of the facts). The Customer must also inform the nearest police authority, not issue any declaration of responsibility, take note of the details of all parties involved in the accident and any witnesses, including the details of the insurance companies of the vehicles involved (company, policy number, branch), provide the Lessor with any other useful information, and follow the Lessor''s instructions regarding the storage and/or repair of the vehicle. If the Customer fails to fulfill any of these obligations, they are deemed responsible for all damage suffered by the vehicle, even in the event of a potential non-fault accident. The Customer also undertakes to pay the Lessor the Penalty for late or missed accident notification as indicated in the Special Rental Conditions.


EXTRA INFORMATION AND COSTS

WINTER COVER

Snow chains or textile snow chains will be included for free in all Locauto products during the winter season for all our locations

Please note that Winter tires are NOT included and can be required exclusively at the pick-up time to the counter staff. If available (it is not guaranteed), customers will be required to pay the related fee locally (max charge 22,20 € + taxes per day, the cost varies depending on the car category

RENTAL EXTENSION


If, upon reaching their destination, the client needs to extend their rental, they must contact the supplier personally, as neither their travel agency nor Flexible Autos are authorized to process extensions with this supplier.

You will not need to return to the office where you collected the vehicle, as the supplier will inform you of the additional amount and charge the corresponding amount to your credit card.

DELAYED OR DIVERTED FLIGHTS

For airport reservations, the flight number is mandatory in order to preserve the car availability.
If not present in the reservations'' details, the rental stations will close at standard time without waiting for the customers.

For bookings with flight /train details indicated, the car will be kept available up to a maximum of 59 minutes after the flight landing or train arrival and up to 90 minutes after the branch closing time- out of hour fees apply- (but in any case not later than 1 am).

TRAFFIC ADMINISTRATION FINES

If the customer receives a traffic fine, such as but not limited to, a speeding or parking fine, the customer will be charge per offence

PETS ON BOARD

No pets on board of the rented vehicle are allowed

Pets can only be transported in the vehicle kept in a carrier. The vehicle must be cleaned before return. If a customer is found not to have done so, a cleaning fee will be charged. Please inform the supplier at the time of booking

RENTAL DURATION

The rental maximum days is 30 days

BOOKING AMENDMENTS

In case you need to amend your confirmed booking, please contact us.

For amendments up to 24 hours before pickup (or 48 hour before pickup during week-end):

- if the rental days is the same and the new pickup date is within the next 72 hours, the original rate will be honoured.
- if you need to amend the flight nbr, driver name, as this won''t amend the rental duration, the original rate will be honoured.
- if you need to amend the drop off location, the original rate will be honoured, but the customer will have to pay the one-way rental locally.
- if you need to amend the pickup location, the rental duration and/or the car category, then if will be applied a new rental rate based on the new rental details.

The above will be applied as long as the supplier confirms availability for the new dates/times applied.

Additional Cost such as: Towing charges. Fines. Administrative expenses for fines. Traffic congestion charges and penalties. Administrative expenses for damages. Expenses for loss of use. Toll. Extra cleaning. Special services and any other concept not included in the section of what is included.

Please read the Terms and Conditions of your vehicle hire carefully before signing for the rental vehicle.

Please note, not all supplier excess waivers cover the following, unless otherwise stated in the excess waiver packages: damage to wheels, tyres, hubcaps, locks, windows, side and rear-view mirrors, undercarriage of the vehicle, suspension, damage to clutch, damage to exterior paintwork. Any damage and loss incurred not arising from general use.

If there is an option extra and service you do not want, you must ask for the removal of the item before signing the contract. Any option extra and service that is accepted with the customer’s signature will be charged to your credit card and Flexible Autos you will not be able to reimburse it later.

DRIVER NEGLIGENCE

Driver negligence''s and deliberate damage/loss, are not covered by the suppliers insurance waivers, and will incur additional costs and administration charges, if the customer has been found to have acted against the terms and conditions of the rental agreement:

Dropping the rental vehicle off at a supplier office, other than agreed in the rental agreement.

Abandoning the vehicle.

All costs derived from the use of the incorrect and/or lack of petrol.

The supplier is not to be held liable for items stolen, forgotten or lost inside the vehicle. It is recommended having these items covered through personal travel cover.

The loss/damage of the vehicle documents and/or keys.

It is not permitted to remove the vehicles seats.

If the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and/or found using their cellular phone at the time of the accident.

Driving the vehicle when tired and not feeling well.

The use not permitted includes and is not limited to the following cases mentioned by way of example: Pushing or towing another vehicle.

Driving in areas not suited to public transport, such as beaches, race tracks, forestry roads, back roads, dirt roads and very poorly paved roads that could cause damage to the underside of the vehicle.

Driving the vehicle in restricted areas, and more specifically on airport roads and other roads for aeronautical and/or military use.

Negligent behaviour when the vehicle’s indicators show an alert that customer’s state are known to them when they sign the agreement.

Transport of goods or animals and, in particular, substances that are hazardous, inflammable and/or poisonous for the vehicle and its occupants.

The transport of individuals or goods for which the customers receive direct or indirect payment.

Using the vehicle for unlawful activities, reckless driving, sub-leasing the vehicle, giving driving lesson, or teaching special driving technics.

Transporting a number of passengers and amount of luggage not authorised for the vehicle concerned.

Manipulation of the speedometer. Customers must report any malfunction of the speedometer to the supplier immediately.

Transport of luggage or any other item on the vehicle’s roof, even when an adequate luggage rack is used for the purpose.

Damage to the vehicle caused by leaving tempting items in plain sight inside the vehicle.

Dirtying the inside of the vehicle beyond what would be expected from reasonable and careful use.

Driving against the traffic regulations.

The vehicle is driven by a person who is not authorised to do so in the agreement, as either a customer and/or a supplementary driver.

Continued use of the vehicle after the rental period has ended.


DISCLAIMER

Flexible Autos makes every effort to ensure that all the information provided is correct at the time of booking. The terms and conditions presented in the rental voucher are reviewed and updated by the supplier on a regular basis. Flexible cars are not responsible for the updates if made after the booking has been made.

The supplier has the right to refuse to serve the vehicle if he considers that the driver is displaying inappropriate behaviour or suspects that the driver might be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The supplier has also the right to refuse to serve the vehicle if the driver intends to use the vehicle commercially rather than for holiday purposes (except for cargo vans).
